It’s efficient against fleas, ticks, ants, mites, and mosquitoes. Get rid of your bug repellents, and try this natural alternative. The good news is that it’s both safe and effective, plus, it won’t cost you a thing.
After using this, you will never ever put that chemical-packed powder on your dog. How does anyone use products that shouldn’t come in contact with skin? Now you get the idea.
Homemade flea powder recipe
- 1 cup food-grade Diatomaceous Earth
- ½ cup yarrow powder
- ½ cup neem powder
- 20 drops eucalyptus essential oil (for dogs only)
Combine the ingredients into a mason jar with a shaker top lid. Apply the powder along your pet’s back. Start from the head and end at the tail. Carefully rub it into the skin, and pay more attention to the leg and belly area.
DO NOT use it around your pet’s eyes and nose. Again, focus on the area right above the tail and the belly. For easier application, brush your pet in the opposite direction, and use a puff to apply the powder.
How often should you use it?
Use this powder once a month during the “flea season.” Use after rainy days or after bathing your pet.
Use the powder more often, and the frequency depends on the severity of your pet’s tiny problem. Do it every day or every other day.
Use the powder on your furniture, windowsills and floors, and let it work overnight. Vacuum in the morning, and say ‘goodbye’ to your fleas!
